Overview

Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny was founded durring the early 16th century in winter of the year 1503, by Halicata. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Halicata.

Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny was built using the conventions of Undermountain durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive cobblestone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny's timber-based walls are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the city as needed.

A look around Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny makes it abundantly clear the city suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet city filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.

History

A vast influx of newcomers over the last 2 years has greatly spiked Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny's population. They may have been drawn by economic opportunities, or fled some pursuing peril, or been forcibly moved there by a ruler who wanted to dilute the existing native cohesion. The natives may not have the resources or opportunities to integrate these newcomers, and it may be that the new population has no desire to stay longer than is necessary.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny lost 154 people, 249 livestock, and 35 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 41, when members of Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific war machine to a particular production site unharmed. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with the defense of the production site against a siege, which ended in defeat for Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Qÿhtvehb Hÿckyen Uny's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
